Yes, we had a similar problem with 6.20 software on a RB100AHx2
connecting to a Motorola (Cambium) PTP 600. We could not get full
throughput with the RB1100AHx2 set to full auto on the Ethernet
interface when the PTP 600 was set to auto up to 100 Mbps FD only. The
wireless link had 80 Mbps download capacity and we could only get 40
Mbps through with bandwidth test on UDP and 20 Mbps with bandwidth test
set on TCP. Hard setting both interfaces to 100 Mbps/FD didn't solve
the problem either. We finally noticed buffer errors on the Cambium
detailed counters page. We set the PTP 600 and Routerboard both to up
to 1 Gbps full auto and the buffer errors went away and throughput was
restored when the Ethernet link was able to set up at 1 Gbps/FD. This
was a very tough problem to solve. This problem first appeared with new
RB1100AHx2 and version 6 software. We did not see this problem with
version 5.

Kristian, Yes. So much yes.

We had many problems with licensed links. Not just our Apex Plus units.
But also with SAF luminas. TL:DR flow control. Which corrects buffer
overflow issues.

Some of the symptoms we saw were strange packet loss. Inconstant speed
test results (20Mb/s down, 100Mb/s up). As well as poor overall TCP
performance. Specifically in one direction (The download side, Which had
more traffic, being an eyeball network).

The fact that it doesn't effect the Lynx leads me to believe it has a
larger buffer. The SAF integra is the same way. No need for flow control
since it has a larger buffer, Compared to the lumina.

Took me a long time to figure it out, Mostly due to flow control needing
a bit of love before it actually worked. IE. I'd turn it on. And it
wouldn't fix my problem. But it wasn't actually working.

Feel free to call or hit me off-list for a deeper technical discussion.

Subject: [Mikrotik Users] Trango ApexPlus + MikroTik

Hi,

Has anyone run into strange packet loss and/or throughput issues with
the Trango ApexPlus when connected to MikroTik routers (RB1100AHx2 or
CCR1036)? I've been beating my head against a problem and it appears to
affect multiple links to different degrees, but not an ApexLynx.

Also, as a related question, does anyone have such a setup with >200Mbps
going through the link? I ask, because I'm wondering if this is a
problem that only manifests when you reach certain traffic levels, so it
goes mostly unnoticed.

Thanks,
