Martin Thorne, anti-Guided Bus Technical Officer for CAST.IRON, writes: >From 1st October, Stagecoach will be increasing the prices of their Dayrider, Dayrider+, Megarider and Explorer tickets. Some of the new fares are as follows:
Dayrider: Up 20p to £2-70. Dayrider+: Similar increase. A new family Dayrider+ is also being introduced (1 adult & up to 2 children can travel on the same ticket). Megarider: Changes to both prices, and - from monthlies onward - period of validity. Up to £9-50 for 7 days, £38 for 28 days (previously 1 calendar month), £114 for 84 days (previously 3 calendar months) & £456 for 336 days (previously 12 calendar months - last two are only available from Drummer Street ticket office. Incidentally, where will we get these from when it closes soon due to demolition of Bradwells Court?). Goldrider: unchanged. Explorer: up from £5-99 to £7. I have also received information that the County Council-supported Sunday service 19 is to be retendered next April (comments can be made to them until Oct 19th). Some time ago Burtons took over those journeys which were previously operated by Norfolk Green (formerly jointly run). Anyone know why the latter company gave up?
