I think the separation of storage, parser and dom could lead to a clearer 
design. Probably that's all there is to it..

Also I still believe that the separation into three modules should be 
relatively easy. If the modularization shows that some classes have to go to 
different packages then that's probably a good thing.

On the other hand modularization is certainly not a must have for me. So I'm +0 
to stick to the original plan.
