I can see ur point, but not everyone will be downloading from a high speed connection like yours. Many of the mirrors that host the apache.org dist are connected into highspeed fibers, beign that most are ISP, HOSTING FIRMS, and large schools. Ive talked with my isp and the connection i have can go no higher with out continious dropped conections, which would be no fun for anyone regarless of connection speed.
