Did you notice that there is lots of work being done to replace sendmail? Yes, there is an interest in replacing bind (and sendmail). However, we are doing it slowly and cautiously, to ensure we do not make the situation worse. -- Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from a rigged demo.
