The Ruxcon (security conf) people have some monthly sessions in various cities (Melbourne and Sydney and, IIRC, Perth is on the todo list) with a couple of speakers on each date.

From laser microphone eavesdropping and WAN interception to session attacks and fuzzing. Presented in a way that helps you understand how each step builds upon the previous to make a secure whole. OpenSSH Security Measures - Darren Tucker OpenSSH is a widely used SSH implementation. This talk describes some of the techniques OpenSSH uses to reduce the likelihood and severity of security problems. It is an update of a talk given by Damien Miller at Ruxmon Melbourne in 2010.
