Depends on bandwidth really, there are remote imagers and one to many ssh consoles. You can also use your own repo with a custom .tgz by selecting http during the install. Also I think it was Antoine that did an article in BSDMAG (free download) that shows how he uses puppet to maintain his companies desktops.
