I remember having similar issues and that I got it fixed by editing /var/www/zabbix/conf/zabbix.conf.php to reflect the actual database configuration. But that was for Apache/MySQL. Also make sure that you've read /usr/local/share/doc/pkg-readmes/zabbix-web-<version> in case there are special instructions applying to nginx/PostgreSQL installations. (Btw: Zabbix is REALLY cool!)
