I worked out how to set a "gap" so that maximized windows won't obscure the xclock line at the bottom. That helped. Unfortunately, it's not enough. By default `xconsole` is sized and positioned so, if brought forward, `xconsole` obscures `xclock`. That invariably happens if cycling through windows...
