SSDs are absolutely not suitable for long term archival. They need to be kept powered to avoid losing data over the medium term, and even then are still subject to problems. Magnetic HDDs are better for medium term but if you want to be sure things are readable in say 30 years you should probably look elsewhere too. -- Please keep replies on the mailing list.
