I have an A1465 MacBook Air. The machine had a factory setup of
128GB SSD NVMe drive and it was running just fine with OpenBSD
back in 2022 (so for sure with 7.0 and erlier releases). I think
I did sysupgrade it ocassionally, so it might be it saw 7.4 or
7.5, but eventually it found its end in a drawer, as 128GB turned
out to be too small for my needs.

I now dediced to "revive" it a bit by swapping the drive with
500GB PCIe SSD from another macbook (pro) of mine. After the
swap, macOS runs without problems on the Air, but 7.7 and 7.8
installers both hang in same place:
