Yes, installed a fresh 7.8 and did all updates (syspatch, pkg_add -u,
fw_update). No luck yet. No traffic from the guest on tap0.

mismatch" in the virtio net code that recent Linux kernels trip over
that's fixed in current. If you upgrade the host to a snapshot it
should work.

Since I upgraded a Arch Linux VM to the latest release with kernel
6.18
I see the same thing. I can see ethernet packets with ARP requests on
the tap interface, but the source MAC is set to all zeros. The VM
can't
talk. Alpine 3.23 was also released with a 6.18 kernel.
