Have you ran `make install` after compiling the custom kernel? And have
you confirmed that your custom kernel is running?
and the change I made to the custom kernel was
echo "option HZ=1000" >> CUSTOM
sysctl kern.clockrate still shows:
hz = 100
after rebooting
I am running openbsd 8 in vritualbox
