Hello,

I have a fucked raid controller, with a dark history about drivers.

It is a Aralion ultima raid controller (ata 133, with 0, 1 and 5 raid).
When I bought it, the box said "linux compatible"... it was only for
linux kernels 2.4.X ... no 2.6 driver at now (two years later)... also
now my servers are under openbsd 3.9 (for two months to 4.0 jeje)

The manufacturer support forums, are full of people requests for a
driver for linux 2,6, even appeared a patch for the 2.6.9 in a page of
Korea, that has disappeared of the network. I believe that it would be
good, offer to people the possibility of using it, in a still
betteroperative system :)

My objective now is centered in:

exists some form to port, that old patch for kernel linux 2,4 to
openbsd? or is better to try to write a new driver, starting of zero?

I have several old IDE discs, with which to try it.

The controller is recogniced in pcidevs:

/* Aralion products */
product ARALION ARS106S 0x0301 ARS106S
product ARALION ARS0303D 0x0303 ARS0303D

It appears to me another doubt ... where i can start to hack this or to
read doc about create openbsd drivers ?

greetings

If anybody knows a way to make it work on a open operative system,
please, send me a mail by private if is off topic.
