I've purchased hardware from Wim multiple times over the last two or
three years and found him to be fast, reliable and helpful in every
order. In each, he's provided far superior service than any other
vendors I've dealt with in the last decade, though some of those have
been good, too.

Regarding the *abstract concept* of CDs as a means of distributing
OpenBSD, it may be time to rethink distribution models and perhaps also
distribution media.

The distribution model might be improved. Unlike in the US, there is
still not an established tradition of cross-border purchases in Europe.
It is not uncommon to have to deal with unwarranted service charges and
excessive paperwork on transfers. Lastly there is the question of
stocking and excess (or deficient) inventory. The CDs have to be
pressed in large volume. Sometimes that can be too many sometimes that
can be too few.

The medium might be reconsidered. Myself, I am starting to lose through
attrition my old machines with CD drives, both at home and at work. Of
the last three dozen machines purchased in the last two years, twelve
have no optical media storage devices. I also notice, at least in
Europe, a decreasing amount of new computers with optical media devices.
This is especially true for netbooks. IMHO it is only a matter of time
before CDs are phased out all together. There are, however, USB drives
the size of my finger nail that could be shipped, but with the
advantage/disadvantage of being R/W.
