You misread what I did. I was following the Upgrade Guide to the dot, following "Applying patches in OpenBSD" to the dot, and then the instructions in the patch files. To the dot. This is where my unfortunate quarrel with Jacob came from, when he said I was building userland, and I insisted I was applying errata. >From what I have learned, "Applying patches in OpenBSD" should be removed from the FAQ, since we would all have been spared this thread.
