Note that it will also retreive inet6 addresses, so you might want to add "limit mta inet4" in smtpd.conf if inet6 is not routable on your system.
I have these two lines in the smptd.conf for FreeBSD 9.3 jails running OpenSMTPD 5.4.4 and they're working fine.
