Hi,

Caspar is right, but it also depends on which "sources" of MITK you downloaded. If you are using a recent git clone, all dependencies (except Qt) will be build automatically. If you downloaded a source tarball from mitk.org, you will have to compile ITK,VTK, etc. yourself.

Nokia only provides Qt binaries vor Visual Studio 2008 (32 bit). For every other platform, you need to compile Qt yourself. You will find instructions how to compile Qt in the Qt docs.

Best,
Sascha

Hello John,

you will need to download and build QT beforehand, whereas VTK is downloaded and build during the superbuild process, for more information on the superbuild visit our build instructions

http://docs.mitk.org/nightly-qt4/BuildInstructionsPage.html

To build Qt you basically follow the instructions on their help pages:

http://doc.qt.nokia.com/latest/install-win.html

or

http://doc.qt.nokia.com/main-snapshot/install-x11.html

Hope this helps,

Caspar

Hello,

I am trying to build MITK. I use visualstudio2010 and cmake with GUI. Is it necessary to build first Qt and VTK, or I could only build MITK using cmake and the source code that I have download? And, if is necessary to build Qt how I can do that as the source code does not include any CMakeLists file for the cmake. Finally, could I use cmake instead of Qt and what is the differences between them?
