Hi Federico,
if you can open the link with your browser but not using git it is probably a
problem with your proxy configuration. But if the github mirror works for you
that is fine.

I can open the info/refs link in the browser, but I still can't access through
git. I'm using the github mirror.

http://git.mitk.org/MITK.git produces an "Access denied" error, which is fine
and as it should be.
http://git.mitk.org/MITK.git/info/refs (the address from the reported error
message) should be a list of hashes and tags.
If you tried the clone link as well Federico, would you mind trying the other
one in your browser? If that works it could be an error with your proxy
configuration. Can you clone from other addresses without hassle?

I tried it just for curiosity, I can clone http://git.mitk.org/MITK.git, but if
I put the address in a browser I get the same error as Federico did.
