it could also be related to OpenGL vs ANGLE, the default was changed at
some point if I remember correctly [1]

And there is a lot you could do on the Qt side about loading OpenGL
drivers, version etc., see [2] e had some issues with that as well
before (Qt4 times though). Remote rendering can have different
mechanisms for OpenGL/DirectX . In our case we had failing unit tests
if someone had connected to the machine remotely at any time before the
tests ran, very hard to track down ...
