thank you for the stack trace and setup description! Unfortunately it seems like the Intel graphics driver crashes with an access violation exception. The OpenGL standard we use in MITK 2016.11 is many years older than your CPU, so it should not be a general incompatibility isssue. In the past we sometimes had similar crashes with Nvidia graphics on Linux and I'm afraid that the solution always was to upgrade the graphics driver. If you are really stuck to your machine, you could try to (1) use an older version of MITK just to double-check (v2015.05.2 for example) or (2) build MITK v2016.11 yourself on your machine or (3) try something more exotic like [1].
