Hi All, I'm trying to get the best quality mpeg2 that I can before burning it to DVD. For some of the high action DV that I have taken, the encoded results look pretty poor even with the quality at highest setting (-q 1) and bitrate at 7.5Mps.
>From the mpeg2 and DVD specs it appears that I should be able to up the bitrate to 9.8Mbps, which does improve the image a bit, but when I do this mplex complains about underruns and errors out. I have tried upping the video buffer size on mplex to the maximum (appears to be 1K even though the help says 200 - 2K), but it still underruns and exits. I'd appreciate any tips anyone could offer on upping the bitrate and staying DVD compliant, and any tips on maximizing the encoding quality in general ...
