> I've put up RPMs+tarball for mjpegtools-1.6.2 release candidate 1

Excellent news, I'll be downloading it when I get to the office in the morning.

Well then three cheers to Steven:
        Hip hip hooray

        Hip hip hooray

My personal preference is to use numbered released over CVS versions, both
because it implies a stableness, but also because it's easier to tell people
which version you're using, and find people using the same version. Of
course, I understand that while a product is undergoing great development,
there will always be more and better versions available on a daily basis,
but if what I have works well enough for now, then I go with it.

One question though, the past couple days people have mentioned that one
should use the DV capabilities of the ffmpeg library rather than some
other library, and it isn't clear to me if I'm using dvgrab and/or kino
to capture video, am I using the wrong thing? I have a very recent version
of ffmpeg (to get the Sorenson-3 decoding), but I don't recall which
application uses which library.

And like one other reader, I'm curious as to what exactly this means.
Haven't we already been making full-fledged DVD's, and in my case,
even with multiple chapters per title? Granted, I'm still a novice,
and I haven't gotten to the point where I know my DVD will play in
a standalone player, but I'm getting there.

        Thanks,
