Just as a matter of interest, what are the principal uses, if any, of the MJPEG Tools to someone who doesn't have a supported capture card?
You don't have to capture with the mjpegtools -- I never have (all my captures are DV through a Canopus box on FireWire). Capture with whatever you like, and use the mjpegtools for encoding.
