good news. after tinkering with mplex a little bit more i got it to work. here is the command that worked: mplex -f 8 -L 48000:2:24,48000:2:24 -o sample2448.mpg black.m2v sample2448-2.lpcm in addition, i have found that xine does _not_ recognize 24 bits, but does, oddly enough, recognize the correct bitrate (2304000 b/s). the resulting output from xine is diginoise. mplayer, however, plays the resulting mpg correctly. i'll be doing a more comprehensive test in the coming days. thanks! amazing response time. __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!?
