Hmmm, Ok, it was a slightly older 5.x version a coworker and I tried.
Luckily when the attempt(s) failed they did so without writing or
making a coaster.

Internet fixes everything - Amazon.Com has DVD+R/DL media at
reasonable prices. 15pk of Memorex is just $27.69. Just put something
like "dvd+r dl" in the searchbox at Amazon.
I prefer the inkjet printable media. It's a bit more expensive but
the DVDs look a LOT nicer with artwork printed on them instead of
handscrawled scribbles. The Epson printers (R2xx/R3xx) are
the only ones I know of in the US that print on the injket printable
DVD/CD media).
