Does the -c option not work ? (xawtv -c /dev/video1)
Who many video devices do you find in /dev ?

When you use the X11 module from nvidia please try once the open source
module.

On my Suse they use X.org too, so that shouldn't be the big problem.

I didn't have time to install the 2.6.18 kernel by now. I will try to do
it this week.
