OK, I am currently doing that.

I will when the test is over present the 1st generation, the 5th
generation and the 10th generation of the following codecs on my homepage:

1. libDV (only 2pass, as single-pass is so ugly in the 1st gen. that ... :-)
2. ffmpeg (using svn-snapshot from today.. seems to compile fine here
(AMD64))
3. Canopus-DV-Codec (this will take time until tomorrow, as I can not
access this at home)

Oh my god... this knocks me out of my socks... ;-)
No, I will use only the same codec for encoding and decoding of the
images. I will by all means (for Canopus (Premiere) and libDV (Kino))
do my best, that the images remain unaltered between encoding and
decoding. For ffmpeg this is easy (yuv4mpegpipe).

I think, we should forget about that, OK? I never had the intention to
either smash ffmpeg or any of it's developers! It supports yuv4mpegpipes
:-) is fast and has -despite of some bugs- a nice quality... but really,
which cool software is free of bugs? We all try but we will ever fail... *g*

So, I do accept your apologize and hope that you will accept mine. I was
(far) to rude, too...

can't reproduce this with the current svn-snapshot, anymore. Whatever it
was seems fixed, now...
