Correct. There was a period of time both the Quicktime API and
mjpegtools were in a state of flux.

The exact reason is probably lost in "antiquity" :)

No reason it can't be a quicktime_t - hasn't been important enough
to worry about (until now :)). Change was checked in a few minutes
ago.
