Yes, the corruption is also when viewed direct to TV or other output 
device, this is because the video is coming from a wireless camera that 
does get interference 'over the air' by other household items, which I 
can do nothing about.
So from what you explain, I cannot stop this from causing the device to 
stop delivering the data and require the device to be closed then re-opened?

Yes, you're right, it is with other programs too, hence my above comment.

Thanks for the info, if anyone has any patches that might help with this 
(I'd prefer it to just discard the frames silently, rather than need me 
to close the capture device), I'd give them a go!
