Are radar detectors illegal in most states? A lot of cops figure if you slow down when you see them, they've already done their job. My Father even stopped and asked a cop if he was using his radar (it was pretty obvious he was but we had passed him twice and my Dad's cheap detector didn't beep once it). The cop didn't seem to mind.
