There is a cheap (well, if $100 is cheap for you)
Whistler Radar/Lasar detector with VG2 detection.  It
actually detects the 'radar/laser detector detector'
before it detects you (wow, a lot of detecting) and
then shuts the radar/laser detector off or something
to that sort.
