Just can't resist it. If you want to remember Porsche, don't forget the LeMans 
Cobras, Shelbys and GT40s. Ford and Shelby used
dry sumps in the competition 427 big block and some 289 small blocks. Owned one 
of each flavor (289 Shelby & 427 Thunderbolt
Fairlane). Dry sumps are used both for high rpm and high g-force cornering. 
Baffled pans are OK, but not anywhere near what a dry
sump can do. Some dry sump systems allow you to use it as pre oiler. System 
must have an electric supply pump in addition to
normal engine driven pump. Turn on oiler, wait 10-15 seconds and start.
