Hey, somehow I think this list turned into the Big Three Bashing List while I wasn't paying attention. Oh well. Anyway, I am finishing up my 2.0L buildup (I'm as far as I can really go with the motor on the motor stand), and I was wondering if I should use my knock sensors over again, as the insulation is cracked and missing in some spots. I wrapped them with a couple rolls of electrical tape, but I don't know if that would be enough, or if they're prone to interference from any other electrics. Any suggestions? I'm on a pretty low budget, and if I can reuse them, that would be great.
Also, I have two transmissions here, if the one isn't sold with the motor. One is the tranny that is in my 85 GTI right now (stock, original tranny, 45K miles), and the other is off of a 1.8L 16V (42K miles, original stock tranny). I am wondering which will give me better performance, acceleration-wise, and which would be better suited for a modded 2.0L 16V. Any opinions?
