Carl,

Most likely (and cheaply thank goodness) it could be one of two things- some
of which I recently learned from the list.

1) (And the greatest possibility) Are you using OEM or a very similar oil
filter? If not, spend the cash and change to it (that resolved the EXACT
same symptoms I was having)

2) Your High Pressure Switch for the oil pressure may be bad. I must have
had one stuck open b/c when I changed it to the one off my spare engine- it
went away. Now I have yet to hook up my Votex console w/ the oil pressure
gauge, but that also may be a factor for you.

The way to check #2 is to unhook the low pressure switch (the one that
blinks when you start the car) first and if the light comes on no more at
all, then it is the high pressure switch. To test the HPS- unhook the
electrical connector after the buzzer is going off and ground it- if the
buzzer goes off, then it's your switch.

HTH,
Brice

Subject: Oil Pressure Light on hard cornering @2200RPM

OK. Here's the next challenge/confusing behavior.

1. Hard Cornering at low RPM ( <2300RPM) brings on the oil light/buzzer.

2. Drop RPM to idle and the light/buzzer stays on.

3. Bring RPM **>UP<** and the light/buzzer goes out.

4. It doesn't take a long hardcorner to do this, just a hard wiggle on the
wheel can do it with the 10W40 oil I'm using this winter, in fact, if
memory serves me correctly, I believe that a good bump has set it off
before as well.

5. I believe that the symptom is MORE prevalent with the current 10W40,
than with the summer weight 20W50.

6. STP did nothing for the symptom.

Anybody got any ideas what's happening??

CURRENT GUESSES.

Bearings, Oil pump clearances, sticky oil baffels in the pan, loose wire,
OR NORMAL FUNCTIONING of the Pressure Warning System????
