I agree with Holland on this.  I also have ND wires on my 16v.  One minor
quibble: the coil wire is far too long for the A2 cars.  Apparently the
length is necessary for the Scirocco 16v.  IMHO, ND should make two sets.

        I run New Dimensions 8mm wires on my '92 16V and my '97 VR6.  They
use
        factory Beru ends, and very high quality silicone wire.  The impulse
sender
        should just slide right off the old wire, and will require a little
        enlargement for the 8mm wires.  Just select a drill bit slightly
larger than
        8mm, and ream out the hole in the sender.
