I got myself an FK (3.89 R&P) code tranny hoping to swap my 2Y and be on my
way in 2 hrs tops. It turns out the tranny mount braket will not fit on the
older FK gearbox. There aren't any provisions for the three 13mm bolts that
hold the bracket. I ended up interchanging the rings and pinions resulting
in a shorter 2Y tranny. The initial feeling is great but after a few weeks
once you get used to the gear, you find yourself wanting more (like the
AVX's 4.25 R&P and 0.75 5th gear). A worthwhile upgrade if the tranny bolts
right in, but nothing to dissasemble a tranny for.
