Well, I thought that the needle and related electro-magnetic mechanism might
be somehow screwed up so I swapped the circuit board on the back of the tach
onto a 7k tach mechanism. I hooked it up and it does the exact same thing as
before. The needle moves VERY slow and reads incorrectly. I checked all of
the wiring diagrams and everything is exactly the same for the 7k/120mph
cluster and 8k/140mph cluster. I'm at a complete loss here. Has anyone done
this swap??? Please help me out, I don't want to have wasted my money on
this cluster. Any help is appreciated, even just a contact for someone who
knows anything about this swap would be good.
