I've read and saw the SV clip on "BMW Motorsports" and what Rat said about hp gels...
However, the engine has been a full stress member in F1 cars forever. How can they use the "road going" blocks? Are you sure about that? Iron blocks in F1 where they go to great lengths to trim every last once? Son 90 GLI

In race trim the motors were making well below 1000hp, more in the 600-700hp range. BMW used factory road going blocks for the F1 cars. In fact they went out and looked for "weathered" blocks with around 60,000 miles to use. Speaks to the quality of construction. Mark Radelow
