The AVS Intermediates are noisy (you can hear them going over the center
line when you go to pass someone on a 2-lane road, and they whine), quick
to wear out, terrible in the rain and not as sticky as well as some of the
more modern tread compounds. I had a set before the SP8000's on my old 924
and loved them, but there really isn't any comparison now. The SP8000's
are WAY better in almost every way. I'd also go with Potenza RE-71's
before the AVSes. YMMV.
