Well I know that Ford made this decision as well from the older body style to the newer body style of SHO's. The older ones were (I believe) only available while the newer ones were available only in automatic. When I enquired about this change they swore that the automatic could out perform and out shift any humans ability to shift gears. Although I doubt that is true, it could be possible that an automatic has the ability to drive better. Also, the newer V8 SHO was kinda based toward old ladies in my eyes. And eveyone konws their maws don't want to shift at all.

Speaking of fast autos...A buddy of mine that sells VWs says that the 1.8T
New Beetle is faster in the auto version than the stick. Anyone have any
experience with this to confirm or deny?

While we r discussing recent conquests...I smoked a V6 Stratus the other
day. Rolling start. I know it's an auto, but it does have 2 extra
cylinders. Give me a little something on this one, guys :-). Honda boys
have not been eager to go head-to-head lately around here. Gotta take what
I can get.

I will do that Renard. That Civic EX has 16 inch rims on it and the exhaust
tip is bigger than the rims. By the way the 240 my friend is gettin is like 95 or older id say and an automatic. I dont know why the hell he is getting an automatic. I told him they were slower than 5 speeds and he was like "nah
man they are faster." sometimes i dont know why he is my friend.
