I've been chasing this problem in my GLI recently as well. I was able to turn the raging river into trickle by replacing the Fuba antenna. If your antenna is still good you can probably just replace the gasket. I went from getting 1" of water behind the drivers seat to that area getting maybe .25". Now I have to start checking other things to totally seal the car.
