Well, the 8v GTI had some problems getting started this morning and
yesterday. When it did start it would run badly, but that would go away
after a minute and it would run perfectly.
I went to do an oil change on it today, and to my surprise it was completly
milky brown in color. There was also some coolant loss in the past few days
but i figured it was the leaky coolant resevoir.
My question, is this definatly just the headgasket? I dont really see what
else it could be as it doesnt have an oil/water cooler.
I'm just trying to make sure before i start tearing this thing apart.
Second question, does anyone have any tips for changing the head gasket on
an 8v motor? Only part i'm really worried about is removing the intake and
exhaust manifolds.
