This is a great idea as other owners are a great source of knowledge and
experience. I belong to a local club here in Southern California that
occasionally conducts clinics. Members converge on other member cars to
collectively fix whatever. Often parts are traded and experience and
manpower quickly elimiate a lot of items off of my todo list. I often leave
with a better running car in exchange for my efforts on their car. Great way
to meet other owners and to gain knowledge as well as repairs and tuning.
It's often like a pit crew working on your car!

Unfortunately, many of these clubs are populated with late model automobiles
so the 16Vs are slowly becoming more of a rarity.
