I have been thinking of selling my car for a few weeks/months now. It's
a 1990.5 2.0l GLI with a little over 61,000 miles on it. It has an R
Title because the original owner had a ding on the front PS corner and
let it sit for a little while before it was fixed. The interior is in
VERY good shape. There are a few things that I have been planning to
fix but haven't done yet. I don't know when the timing belt was
changed, could be the original. So I wanted to get replaced along with
all the belts and hoses. It has the quad grill with city lights. There
must be a loose connection somewhere because the parking lights on the
one side work sporadically. I don't thing it's anything major. The
quad grill needs to be replaced because someone broke one of the inside
lights and the whole thing has to be replaced (about 125-150 at RPI).
It needs normal stuff like new tires, new battery, and possibly new
brakes (from sitting) and needs an alignment. It has a scratch and a
tiny bit of rust on the sun roof (probably out of line) and a small
scratch on the ride side of it. Other then that there is no surface
rust I can see. I'm trying to think of anything else that might be
wrong. The driver side door handle/latch seems to be loose and might
need replaces. The shifter is a little loose. I bough a small rebuild
kit (bushings and what not) and would throw that in. I can send
pictures of the car from about a year and a half ago if anyone would
want to see. If you would want current pics, it would take me a few
days because my license is currently suspended and I have the car stored
a few miles from my house.
I live in Pittsburgh, PA and the car is stored in Robinson Township (if
anyone is familiar with the area). I guess make me an offer. I'm not
putting an ad for it anywhere because I just don't want some guy off the
street to buy it. I'm going to kick myself in the ass for selling it so
I would at least want it to go to someone that would treat it good and
is really into these cars.
I don't know, I'm kind of rambling because I really don't want to sell
this car but I don't have to time, money, or energy to do the little bit
of work it needs, and I could really use some extra money.
