I have a 01 golf 1.8t. It is actually my wife's car. It is a great car. It was the first car either of us bought new. It now has 68k miles on it an runs strong. Talk about torque. It is the opposite of the gli all torque not as much top end. It has held up very well. I wish VW would have continued to sell the golf with the turbo. I think it hadn't had enough time to catch on before they pulled the plug. I put a set of BBS RXIIs on it with some Yok AVS 100s and it handles pretty well, not near as well as the gli, but what does? It could used to Shined. It is currently not feeling the love as my attention has been transfered to my newest purchase a 04 V8 Touareg. The gli has been down for a year or so under going a restoration and the family has grown so we need something bigger. The touareg is great in every way except for gas mileage.
