Been loosing a little coolant every so often, and overheating on hot days.
Has happened almost ever since I've had the car (about 4 years now). More
recently (the last 6 weeks), I've been loosing about 8oz of coolant every
10 days or so. Put some dye in the coolant to help track the leak, and
although I've got a minor leak on one hose, the oil now glows a nice deep
color under the UV light- looks like I'm going in for a headgasket. I think
I'm not going to do this job myself, I don't have a huge amount of time now
(getting married in 4 weeks + starting a new job), and it seems a tad over
my skill level. I'm going to call a few local shops in RI tomorrow (German
Motorwerks, Engines by Benz) and see what they have for openings.
Is there anything special I should ask about when taking it in? I think
that I might ask to have the valve seals done, and of course to check the
head for warpage, but is there anything else?
