Just to add to the disgust over carbon fiber bs... for the longest
time, I was looking for an A2 carbon fiber hood. I found a place that
made them and when I asked them how much weight savings there was, they
didn't know. They obviously made it for show, not go.

I'm over it now. This may be considered heretical, but even though I
love my A2 and still enjoy squeeking more performance out of it, I know
that for what it would cost to make my car perform like a top
performing modern car, it would probably be cheaper to buy the new car.
But, that said, I'm still waiting for someone to come out with serious
performance in a light (sub 2400lbs) nimble chassis, with all the
practicality that a '2-box' Golf type car has.
And one more tangent... I keep wanting that lightweight, high
performance, practical car like an A2 and then I drive by the crash
that killed Pulitzer Prize winning author David Halberstam minutes
after it happened yesterday, right outside where I work and I think, "I
want something with a little more meat on it."

Reality can be a real drag sometimes.
