I believe I damaged the speedometer when going throgh the troubleshooting steps for the cruise control. I was going to take the car on a 6 hour trip tomorrow, but now I have no speedometer or cruise control. Everything for the cruise control checked out ok except for the resistance of the speed sensor. I must have screwed it up with the resistance check when I left the ignition on... ooops. The cable must not drive the speedometer directly on these cars. Is that right?
Does anyone have a spare speed sensor for a 90 gli 16v? I need one asap. Thanks.
