With the engine and dashboard currently out of the car, it would be easy enough 
to confirm. I have in my possession Gti tie rod ends which do fit on the ends 
the power steering rack & Pinion from the Passat (B3). (The Passat is wider 
than a standard MK2)

If it does not fit, then Ill be referencing the VwVortex on how to remove Power 
Steering.
