With the engine and dashboard currently out of the car, it would be easy enough to confirm. I have in my possession Gti tie rod ends which do fit on the ends the power steering rack & Pinion from the Passat (B3). (The Passat is wider than a standard MK2)
If it does not fit, then Ill be referencing the VwVortex on how to remove Power Steering. -Les -----Original Message----- >From: Matthew Yip <[email protected]> >Sent: Jul 15, 2010 8:17 AM >To: [email protected] >Subject: [a2-16v-list] Fw: Power Steering vs Manual Steering > >I WILL get this send thing figured out - honest... > > > >----- Forwarded Message ---- >> From: Matthew Yip <[email protected]> >> To: Les Noriel <[email protected]> >> Sent: Thu, July 15, 2010 11:17:09 AM >> Subject: Re: [a2-16v-list] Power Steering vs Manual Steering >> >> I do know that the manual and power racks use different universal joints at >> the >> >> end of the steering column. >> >> That having been said, I'm a big fan of the power steering rack in general >> b/c >> >> it offers a better steering ratio than the manual rack.
